Another big investment and update point is the roofing and siding on your home. And, committing to doing them both together may seem like a big upfront cost, but the reality is, it is both a large investment, and is actually a beneficial decision. 

Especially when storm damage occurs to an aging home unexpectedly. Mind you, storm damage on a home does not necessarily mean a tornado. Storm damage can be as simple as a thunderstorm or heavy wind and rains which brought great tree and debris damage.

Fixing Damage from Bad Weather

Whoever came up with the saying, when it rains, it pours, must have been from Texas or California - but it is not to say in Ohio or Michigan it does not happen! Different seasons across the United States homeowners experience a high probability for damaging winds, hail, and other inclement weather occurrences.

More often than not, when there is bad weather it damages homes in more than just one area. Tree branches and limbs fall and take out chunks of a roof, windows, and siding or bricks of a home.

Hail storms are known to drop golf ball sized ice chunks from the sky and rip shingles of roofs and leave holes in vinyl siding of all sizes. High winds send all sorts of projectiles flying towards your home and do all kinds of damage.

The point is, when storms occur, it’s often beneficial to replace roofing and siding at the same time. Doing these type of home improvements together can minimize future damage by having areas of your home exposed to the elements.
